CompostEra
Some people are so used to the flush-toilet and its problems that they can't imagine anything better ... until
they try ours. See why.
What we feel about a product depends upon how our 5 senses respond to it -- below are some impressions to consider.
Odor
The flush toilet can have residual odors from the previous user. The bathroom
can have odors when we use it. And sometimes we leave embarrassing odors behind for the next user.
No odor
The CompostEra is always odor-free, before, during and after use. All odors are ventilated down the toilet and out
above the roof. Odor never enters the room!
Noise
We think of the flush toilet as quiet, but it still can awaken us with the sound of water rushing through the pipes
and the sound of flushing itself. Some toilets make more noise than others.
No noise
The CompostEra toilet is silent. There is no flushing! At first this can be disconcerting, but it’s surprisingly easy
to get used to. After we use another WC, we may even find it annoying that we have to bother to flush.
Comfort feeling
WCs usually have a cold toilet seat ... this is especially unpleasant at night when you don't want to be startled fully
awake ... Here a chilly user finds a use for old socks:

Comfort feeling
The CompostEra toilet has a warm toilet seat which quickly becomes the norm. You may never again want to use an ordinary
toilet with a freezing cold seat.
Sights
A water closet only looks clean if it is cleaned and maintained very carefully -- mineral deposits, rust, crystals and dirt
show up very distinctly against the white porcelain background.

Sights
The CompostEra toilet looks great, and requires less room than a WC. The inside liner, the connecting chute and the inside
of the tank are black, so there are no unpleasant visual impressions.

What we feel about it
When we use a WC we are, consciously or unconsciously, causing a big problem down the line. By heedlessly mixing precious drinking water with
feces and urine and then sending the mixture off for many miles to a sewage plant, which will be unsuccessful in separating the two other
than superficially, we create a huge energy demand and ruin two precious resources: clean water and the best plant nutrients imaginable.
Through habit and polite convention we simply suppress it.
What we feel about it
When using a CompostEra we are confident that no drinking water is wasted or polluted and that hazardous fecal matter will not be released
into the environment. The plant nutrients in our waste will be processed without the addition of heavy metals or chemicals. Therefore we
recycle vital micronutrients, which serve as the best conceivable plant food. Indirectly, we help preserve the nutritional value and
vibrant flavor of plants that benefit from the compost.
"A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being RIGHT, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult subsides. Time makes more converts than reason"
- Thomas Paine, Common Sense, (1776)
