Plant nutrients have to be kept separate from society's
tech-waste. Otherwise they become hopelessly contaminated with the
chemicals and heavy metals now threatning the health of humans and
all other animals. Source separation and treatment on-site is the
foundation for our long term composting process. A great many good
consequences follow in the "low-carbon" footsteps.
Contrary to this, if we start out by delibererately
mixing human excrements with drinking water for the sake of sending
it off, NO type of subsequent corrective measure can undo this first
action. All attempts to effectively separate the useful from the
harmful has failed and the more fantastic the purification scheme,
the more we contribute to global warming because of increased enthropy
-- this is a law of physics that has never been contradicted.
So the conventional flush toilet is the least sustainable product
we can use to deal with our human waste.

THE FLUSH TOILET:
Contaminates your and your neighbors well water.
Can freeze if you leave your vacation house unheated.
Uses about 1/3 of your drinking water and results
in a heavy metal laden sludge in septic tanks.
Often leaks, breaks or clogs and overflows
with you know what on the floor....
